There’s something so special about capturing a family’s journey from expecting to welcoming their little one. I recently photographed an in-home newborn session in Fairhope, AL, for Ryley and David, who I had the pleasure of working with during Ryley’s maternity session. This time, I got to meet their beautiful baby girl, Andie, at just one week old.

The session was warm and relaxed, with baby Andie as the star of the show. Her nursery was the perfect backdrop—soft, serene, and filled with thoughtful details that reflected her parents’ love and excitement. From the tiny crib to sweet wall art, every detail was captured to preserve these fleeting newborn moments.

We started with portraits of Andie in her first look, an adorable gown with a bonnet, followed by her second outfit—a precious swaddle complete with a monogrammed pink bow. Ryley and David beamed with pride as they snuggled their little girl, and the connection between them was a joy to document.

Their dog Moose joined the session, adding a sweet and playful touch. It was heartwarming to see how Moose already adores baby Andie, often lying nearby as if standing guard. Capturing those moments of Andie with her loving family—including her furry sibling—was a reminder of how special these early days are.

One of the highlights for me was seeing the portraits I took during their maternity session beautifully framed in their home. Knowing that these new images of Andie and their family would soon join them on the walls made the experience even more meaningful.

This Fairhope in-home newborn session was a perfect blend of intimate family moments and meaningful details. It’s always an honor to follow my clients’ journeys and freeze these precious memories for them to treasure forever.
