The sweetest surprise unfolded on a sunny day in Fairhope, Alabama, for Ann Marie and Bishop’s wedding at Sacred Heart Chapel. With only their families in on the secret, this beautiful celebration was full of love, intention, and the most joyful news to share after the fact!
Getting Ready
Ann Marie spent the quiet, early hours of her wedding day getting ready at her mother’s home, surrounded by love and laughter. Meanwhile, Bishop got ready with his family at the cozy Lucia Bleu Cottages just a few minutes away in downtown Fairhope. Before heading to the chapel, the couple exchanged heartfelt letters and meaningful gifts—custom cufflinks for him and a diamond necklace for her. It was such a sweet, emotional moment they each shared privately before saying “I do.”
A Sacred Celebration
The ceremony took place at Sacred Heart Chapel, a small, white chapel tucked beneath the mossy oaks by the bay. The couple chose to have a full Catholic mass, and it was especially meaningful as it was Bishop’s first time receiving communion. The peaceful setting, the powerful ceremony, and the presence of close family made it truly unforgettable. Just Fr. Steve, the couple, and their immediate families was perfect. This wedding at Sacred Heart Chapel is one for the books!
Portraits by the Bay
After the ceremony, we captured just-married portraits outside the chapel and by the water nearby. The sky was clear, the breeze was gentle, and the sun gave us the most beautiful light—thanks in part, perhaps, to Bishop’s hidden bottle of bourbon! He buried it at the church a month prior (a Southern tradition believed to bring good weather) and dug it up after their portraits. It worked like a charm!
The Big Reveal
With their sneak peek photos in hand, Ann Marie and Bishop shared the happy news with friends and extended family that they had tied the knot! The joy and surprise from their loved ones made the day feel even more special. Soon after, the newlyweds jetted off to Jamaica for an intimate elopement/honeymoon adventure.
