WELCOME, I'M TONI!
Windy Fairhope Engagement Session – A Fairhope Engagement Session is always a favorite of mine. There’s just something so special about the mix of coastal charm, romantic light, and Southern character that this little town offers. Lauren and Christopher’s session was the perfect example of how being an experienced Fairhope wedding photographer allowed me to make magic despite the weather.
We began their session right by Mobile Bay, in hopes of portraits under our beautiful mossy oak trees. Lauren brought along her sweet dog, Nelly, who absolutely stole the show during the first few photos! The wind coming off the bay, however, had other plans. It was so strong! I felt so bad for Lauren’s hair! We decided to change course and head into downtown Fairhope to find a space that blocked some of the unusually strong wind.
Once we made it to downtown Fairhope, we found the most beautiful little pockets of light. Between the soft evening light and the character of the buildings, everything came together perfectly. We even stumbled upon a few spots that matched their wedding color – blue! That touch of serendipity felt like it was meant to be.
Lauren and Christopher spent the time laughing, practicing dip kisses, and showing off a few dance moves (which Lauren joked that Christopher needed to work on). These little moments are what make engagement sessions so valuable. Not only do they create meaningful, relaxed portraits, but they’re also the perfect “wedding day practice.” My couples always tell me how much more comfortable they feel in front of the camera after their engagement session, and it shows on the wedding day!
After a quick outfit change, we made our way back toward The Bay just in time for sunset. I was so happy that we were able to get these images that Lauren really wanted. The imperfect hair and barefoot vibe we actually really liked with the sunset! The wind had calmed down, and the golden light was absolutely dreamy. Those final images of Lauren and Christopher, framed by the water and glowing sky, perfectly captured their connection and excitement for the future.
This sweet couple will be tying the knot in 2026, and if their engagement session was any indication, their wedding is going to be full of laughter, love, and plenty of dancing!
