Planning the Surprise

A Grand Hotel Proposal in December felt like the perfect fit for Cooper and Toriann. Cooper reached out to me weeks in advance to prepare for the moment he planned to ask her to marry him. He handled every detail, including getting permission from the hotel and coordinating the exact location. He shared that Toriann knew a proposal was coming and hoped for photos, but he was sure she would not expect it today since they have an upcoming trip to New Orleans planned. I love a good surprise!

The Perfect Setup

The plan played out perfectly. Cooper and Toriann were enjoying an evening at The Grand Hotel and were told their dinner reservation table was not quite ready. It gave them the perfect reason to step outside for a walk together. We had picked a beautiful oak tree along the side walk just before you turn the corner to get to Bucky’s Lounge. It was just before the sun began to set, and the light was soft and golden in that classic Grand Hotel way.

The Moment He Asked

As they reached the planned location, Cooper slowed down, turned to her, and proposed. Her reaction was full of joy and surprise, and it was such a sweet moment to witness. After more than four years together, this was the moment they had both been waiting for.

After she said yes, we spent a little time taking portraits at this gorgeous resort hotel next to Mobile Bay. Capturing the joy on their faces was such a privilege. Once portraits were finished, they headed back inside to enjoy the dinner they originally came for, now as an engaged couple.

Celebrating the Evening

Once portraits were wrapped up, Cooper and Toriann headed back inside to enjoy their dinner, now celebrating as fiancés. It was the perfect finish to a beautiful evening.
