WELCOME, I'M TONI!
Marguerite and Kole’s Alabama Winter Wedding was the perfect blend of calm, heartfelt moments and a fun, joy filled celebration. As an Alabama wedding photographer based in Fairhope, I don’t always get to say I drove a few hours for a wedding day, but this one was absolutely worth it.
The day began quietly and sweetly with Marguerite and Kole getting ready in cozy cabins right on the venue property. The girls wore matching pajamas, easing into the morning together. One of my favorite moments was watching Marguerite and her daughter jump on the bed together. It set the tone for the entire day. Calm, connected, and full of love.
After her mother helped her into her dress, Marguerite met Kole to share a first look, which gave them a quiet moment together before the day truly unfolded. We moved right into bride and groom portraits, followed by wedding party and family photos, including portraits with their daughter. The girls wore rich green dresses and the guys were in classic black, a perfect winter palette that felt timeless and elegant. “Noodle Butt”, as she titled silly self that day, looked extra pretty in her wedding dress, a tiny version of the bridesmaids dresses but with some lace to match mommy too!
The ceremony took place overlooking a river, with the venue perched high on a cliff. The view was breathtaking and made the moment feel even more special. Soft violin music played as guests arrived, and subtle Christmas decor added a seasonal touch without overpowering the setting.
One of the sweetest details of the day was how ladybugs kept finding their way to Marguerite. I’ve always heard ladybugs are good luck, and it felt like such a fitting symbol for this day.
Marguerite and Kole held their daughter’s hand as they exited the ceremony, a simple but powerful moment that had everyone feeling all the emotions.
As the sun set, the celebration really came alive. The band was incredible and kept the guests entertained all night long. The reception got started with traditional formal dances: Bride and Groom + their daughter (so sweet!), Bride with Dad and Groom with Mom. Later the newlyweds cut the wedding cake, tossed the bouquet and garter. There were happy tears, big laughs, and so many moments that felt genuinely joyful.
From a peaceful morning in the cabins to a high energy reception overlooking the river, Marguerite and Kole’s wedding day was full of love, intention, and joy. It was an honor to capture their story, and a reminder of why I love being an Alabama wedding photographer, especially on wedding days like theirs!
I had a hard time narrowing down my favorite photos – please enjoy this extra long blog.
