Cathedral and Hallet-Irby House Wedding | Rebecca & Nathan

Filed in Weddings — December 31, 2025

The Morning of the Wedding

Rebecca and Nathan’s Cathedral and Hallet-Irby House wedding began in the heart of downtown Mobile, Alabama. The girls got ready at the Renaissance Mobile Riverview Plaza Hotel with beautiful views. The guys prepped for the day at a nearby Airbnb, sharing laughs and getting dressed in a more casual setting. While hair and makeup were underway, I captured wedding details, styling shoes, rings, the paper suite, and florals. Meanwhile, the girls enjoyed a calm, joyful morning getting glam.

A Paper Suite Full of Mobile Charm

Their invitation suite was unforgettable. It blended shades of white, blue, and green with illustrations that felt like the city itself. Oysters, pelicans, and charming coastal motifs gave a nod to their location and love story. Even small details like oyster shells and local imagery tied the suite back to Mobile, making every piece feel personal and rooted in place.

One thing I really loved for this wedding day is that the bridesmaids tied their own bouquets. They used bunches of fresh white hydrangeas wrapped in classic white ribbon. The arrangements were simple, organic, and beautiful, and even more special knowing the bouquets were lovingly created by hand.

A Cathedral Wedding Color Palette

Rebecca wore a stunning strapless ball gown paired with a cathedral length veil that brought timeless elegance to every portrait. Her makeup style was soft bridal glam with gentle contour, glowing skin, and a romantic eye. Her bridesmaids wore dusty blue floor length dresses, each with a slightly different silhouette that added movement and dimension to group photos.

Nathan looked incredibly sharp in his blue suit and light blue bow tie. His smile was constant and contagious, especially when Rebecca walked down the aisle. He had the biggest, happiest grin as his bride made her entrance at the cathedral.

Portraits at the Cathedral

The wedding party walked from the hotel to The Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, allowing us to take portraits before the mass began. The church offered multiple backgrounds within steps of each other, large beautiful columns, iron gates, stunning trees and more. Bridal party portraits, family portraits, and solo bride and groom images were captured in this stunning space.

The ceremony itself was a beautiful mass full of tradition, joy, and emotion.

The Historic Hallet-Irby House Reception

The celebration continued at the Hallet-Irby House, a historic gem in Mobile, Alabama with tall ceilings, a grand staircase, cozy fireplaces, and festive holiday décor. The venue was accented with large red Christmas bows and fresh greenery that warmed the space. The couple added pops of personality to each chair with Mardi Gras beads, and wore custom white beaded necklaces featuring bride and groom charms, a small touch that made a big impact.

The courtyard served as the dance floor. With string lights overhead, guests danced the night away with Port City Entertainment setting the vibe. The DJ created a perfect mix of romantic and upbeat energy.

Dinner, Cake, and Dancing

The couple served a delicious dinner from Naman’s Catering. Cocktails were poured, laughter filled the air, and guests enjoyed the blend of elegance and Mobile charm.

They cut a simple 2-tier white wedding cake topped with a frosted white “K,” representing their new married last name. Pollman’s cakes never disappoint, and this one was just as delicious as it was classic.

A Wedding That Felt Like the City Itself

This day was elegant, heartfelt, festive, and full of local character. Every detail, from oysters on the invitation suite to Mardi Gras beads on the chairs, made this wedding feel like a perfect representation of Mobile.

As a Mobile Wedding Photographer, capturing weddings like this one really does help tell the story of of the couple, the wedding and the city – storytelling matters. Rebecca and Nathan’s wedding day was sweet, personal, and unforgettable. Congratulations to the newlyweds!
