WELCOME, I'M TONI!
As a Fairhope photographer, I love capturing stories that feel real and personal, and Michelle and John’s story is one of my favorites. They’ve been together for 15 years and this fall. They officially said “I do” with an intimate wedding surrounded by their children. Their wedding day was simple, meaningful, and full of love.
Their children took cell phone pictures at the wedding and when Michelle reached out about her idea of having some professional portraits a few weeks later, I loved her idea. They wanted to enjoy being married and plan a relaxed session just for the two of them to celebrate it. It felt a lot like an engagement session, only better because they were already husband and wife.
We started their portraits in the downtown Fairhope alley and a few nearby spots. The clean, white walls and soft light were perfect for photos. Michelle wore a long blue floral dress and John a sage green button-up, the same outfits they wore when they got married on the beach.
Even though the air was crisp, their connection was natural and easy. John had a way of making Michelle laugh between every pose. They fell into rhythm quickly, snuggling and smiling through the wind. Sessions like this remind me why I love being a Fairhope photographer. There’s nothing quite like capturing genuine connection in such a charming town.
After downtown, we stopped at the duck pond near the pier and then headed to the beach before sunset. The breeze off Mobile Bay was strong and chilly, but the light was beautiful. Michelle and John changed into cozy, fall-inspired outfits. She wore jeans, a sweater vest, and a puffer vest with white boots. John wore a brown button-up that matched the season perfectly.
The golden sunset light shining through the trees gave everything a warm glow. It looked amazing with their outfits. Watching them laugh and hold each other as the sun went down was such a joy. Sometimes I meet clients who feel like old friends, and that’s exactly how it felt with these two.
Their portrait session was the perfect way to celebrate their first season as newlyweds. It captured their love story and the cozy charm of fall in Fairhope.
