History Museum of Mobile Engagement Session | Eloise & Tony

A Rainy Forecast Called for a Change of Plans

When the weather doesn’t cooperate, sometimes it leads to something even better. Eloise and Tony’s History Museum of Mobile engagement session is the perfect example. We originally planned to photograph their engagement session outdoors in Fairhope, but after the tropical storm that moved through the Gulf Coast last week, we knew we needed a backup plan. Thankfully, Eloise had the perfect idea.

Why We Chose the History Museum of Mobile

As a wedding planner, Eloise reached out to arrange access for the History Museum of Mobile engagement session. Looking back, I don’t think we could have chosen a better location. Saturday morning started with sunshine, making us wonder if we should have stuck with our original plan. But just as we arrived at the museum, the rain returned. Instead of scrambling for cover, we walked inside to one of the most beautiful indoor portrait locations in downtown Mobile.

The museum’s grand architecture, historic details, soaring ceilings, and timeless character created such an elegant backdrop for their engagement photos. Every space felt classic and refined, perfectly complementing Eloise and Tony’s style. The quiet atmosphere allowed us to slow down, focus on the two of them, and create portraits that feel both romantic and sophisticated.

A Story of Faith, Timing, and Second Chances

Their story is one of perfect timing – Eloise and Tony first met in 2024 at an ice cream shop in Pensacola through a mutual friend. While there was an introduction, life simply wasn’t leading them in the same direction yet. Two years later, everything changed. Eloise accepted a new position as an academic advisor for an online university, where Tony served in leadership within the Academic Advising Center. Their paths crossed once again, and before long they found themselves serving together in a Bible study. Friendship quickly grew into something much deeper. What began as a brief meeting years before became the foundation for a relationship built on faith, purpose, and God’s perfect timing. Tony proposed on April 26, 2026, at The Launch at CR6, choosing the exact same spot where he had asked Eloise to be his girlfriend the year before. I love when couples include meaningful locations in their story, and this proposal couldn’t have been more intentional.

Embracing the Rain for Some of My Favorite Portraits

After we finished photographing inside the museum, we stepped outside for just a few more minutes. It was still raining, but instead of letting the weather end the session, we embraced it. Those final portraits, with umbrellas, rain, and lots of laughter, became some of my favorite images from the day. They perfectly reflected their joyful personalities and the reminder that sometimes the unexpected moments become the ones you’ll treasure most.

Looking Ahead to Their Gulf Shores Wedding

I’m so excited to photograph their wedding this October at St. Andrew by the Sea in Gulf Shores. If their engagement session is any indication, it’s going to be a day filled with joy, intentional moments, and so much love.

Congratulations, Eloise and Tony. Thank you for trusting me with this season of your story. I cannot wait for October!
